Can porcelain paving be pressure washed?
It needs far less pressure than stone. Porcelain is effectively non-porous, so dirt and algae sit on the surface rather than soaking in and lift off easily at low pressure. The reason to keep the pressure down is the joints, not the slab: brush-in resin and slurry grout are much softer than the porcelain and are damaged long before it is.
Why does my porcelain patio look dull and streaky?
Usually a film of algae and grime across the surface plus water marking, not damage. Because porcelain absorbs nothing, everything sits on top of it and shows as an even dulling instead of the patchy staining you get on stone. Porcelain does not absorb staining so it does not deteriorate the way sandstone does, but algae still grows across the surface anywhere damp and shaded. A shaded porcelain patio can look green quite quickly even though nothing has soaked in.
