How it works

Send photos or book a visit. We work out what the drive is made of, because block paving, concrete, imprinted concrete and tarmac all take a different approach. We also look for loose blocks, sunken sections, oil patches and anything that will not come out.
- 2 Clear the drive and plan the run-off
Cars and bins off, loose debris swept up, and a look at where the dirty water is going to end up. It wants keeping away from planting and out of open drains as far as the layout allows, with anything vulnerable at the edges covered.
- 3 Rotary pass across the open areas
A flat surface cleaner does the main run. It holds an even distance off the surface, so you get one consistent finish instead of the stripes you get from waving a lance about.
- 4 Lance the edges and detail work
The rotary head cannot reach kerbs, gullies, drain surrounds or the tight run alongside a wall. That gets done by hand so the edges match the middle instead of framing the drive in green.
- 5 Joints, rinse and tidy
Cleaning block paving pulls sand out of the joints, so we talk you through what the joints need afterwards and agree it before we start. Then a final rinse, with the silt swept up rather than washed into the nearest gully, and everything put back.
Not every surface suits high pressure. Where needed we use soft washing to protect the material while still getting a deep clean.

Driveway Cleaning: your questions answered
What does driveway cleaning cost, and why is there no price list?
Every drive is quoted individually and the quote is free. Two drives of identical size can be very different jobs: one block-paved with light algae, the other with thick moss in every joint, oil staining, a lot of edge detailing and joints that need refilling afterwards. A published rate per square metre would be wrong for most people, so the actual drive gets looked at, in person or from photos, and you get a figure with no obligation.
Which driveway surfaces can you clean, and which will you turn down?
Block paving, concrete, pattern-imprinted concrete, paved and slabbed drives, tarmac and resin-bound all clean up, each at its own pressure. Loose gravel and shingle get turned down, because there is no solid surface to clean and a washer just redistributes the stone and pushes weed seed deeper. If your drive is gravel, you will be told that instead of sold a job.
Do you seal driveways after cleaning?
No. Sealing is a separate trade with its own products, its own preparation and its own repeat cycle, and it is not something offered here. What is offered is the cleaning: removing the dirt, moss and staining, and dealing with the joints afterwards. If you want the drive sealed, get that quoted separately by somebody who does it, and have it done once the surface is clean and thoroughly dry.
What areas do you cover?
Surrey, Sussex and Kent, working out from a base in Horley. The nearest towns are the ones reached most easily, so Redhill, Reigate, Crawley, Horsham, Dorking and the surrounding area are routine. If you are further out in Sussex or Kent, ask anyway. Whether the travel stacks up for the size of job is a short conversation.
Do I need to be at home while the driveway is cleaned?
Not usually, as long as the drive and a water supply are both reachable. What does matter is that the drive is completely clear of vehicles for the whole visit, which is the one thing that most often holds a job up. If you would rather not be there, make sure everything is accessible and you can be talked through what turned up afterwards.
